在使用英文口語表達認同(agree)和附和對方說法時，最常見到的單字包括 “so”, “too”, “either” and “neither”, 以下就用三個情境來幫大家複習一下最常見的用法: [情境一：肯定附和]A: I think Tom is going to win. 此時倘若B認同(agree) A的意見，他的回答可以有以下幾種: B: I think so./ So do I. / I do too. I agree. [情境二：否定附和]A: I don’t think Tom is going to win. 此時倘若B認同A否定(negative)的意見，他的回答可以有以下幾種: B: Me neither. / I don’t either. / Neither too I. [情境三：反對]A: I think Tom is going to win. 此時倘若B不認同(disagree) A的意見，他的回答可以有以下幾種: B: No, I think John will win. / I don’t think so. / I disagree. 接著我們就來仔細看看either和neither在「不同詞性」下的用法: 1. 副詞 (Adv.) Either: 也；Neither: 也不A: I’ve never been to the States. 「我從沒去過美國。」 B: I haven’t either. / Neither have I. / Me neither. 「我也沒有。」 2. 形容詞 (Adj.) Either: (兩種可能性的選擇）不是…就是 (兩者中)任何一個 ；Neither: (兩者)皆不 Either candidate would be ideal for the job. (這兩個人中的任意一個都是做這項工作的理想人選。)Neither one of us is interested in math.
